interferences - reflected signal waves (voip over wi-fi)

finally our voip provider will install 2 new aps to reinforce the signal in the zones with less rssi. then, in the factory we will have 4 aps, and we will use 2 directional antennas on each one. we try to move apart the current 2 aps a little far from the steel gateway with some kind of base (probably we will mount it 2 or 3 mts lower). then, the new scenario would be:

i will suggest to test with lower transmit power in the aps.

shoieb_arshad :
802.11g it has only three base frequencies means u can only use 3 ap in in a region where is posibility of co-channel interference.

my question is that do u try call hand-off between two ap?(soft hand off)

yes, the ideal scenario will be with 3 aps, but whe need the another 2 for data. here is a example of rssi levels with network stumbler:

ap1 voip signal:

ap1 data signal:

the another macs in the same ap1 channel (1) are "residual signals" from a office ap and from the another "ap2 data", lower than 10 dbs.

no. i don't know how could i do this, but i will try to search info about it.

rgower :
are you using mechanical or plasma/arc cutting?

no, we only have machines with blades to cut the steel.

hfrisch :
my guess is that the trouble is more from all the metal in the environment rather than the motor noise

it is also my guess, more than 20.000 tons of steel vs some electrical motors or compressors.
